Wondering what to do with ten dollars?

Give it to the director and cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

If you enjoyed last year's comedy Zombieland, you will be more entertained by this film.  You don't have to like Michael Cera (I never need to act because I play my expressionless self just fine.)—he holds the center of a typhoon of actors who keep all the hilarity swirling around him.

You also don't have to prefer Edgar Wright.  This is funnier, tighter, and more over-the-top than all the movies he has previously directed, combined.

Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today. — Benjamin Franklin

That film had the completely alchemical effect of transforming Michael Cera into a character I actually gave a shit about. I didn't think that sort of thing could be possible in our modern society.

It's been nearly a week, and I'm ready to see it a second time! Failing that, I'm ready to go visit Toronto again! But then, I'm always ready to go visit Toronto again.

Have you read the Scott Pilgrim comics? You really should. As good as the film is, the comic's better. But you know how that goes...

I have every intent to read the comics soon, someday, when my budget will permit (wish the library had graphic novels), eventually.

Maybe I'll sit in a bookstore one afternoon, for a few hours, and read them. Is that stealing? Wrongfully appropriating the written word?
